Mr. Farukh Iminov is specializing in the sphere of dispute resolution, contractual law, banking and financial activities.
Mr. Iminov is a key lawyer of the Dispute Resolution Practice. He has vast experience in the support of judicial and arbitration proceedings on different categories of disputes, including appeals against the results of state inspections, declaration of bankruptcy, challenging of transactions validity, etc. Furthermore, Farukh advises on intricate issues of the banking, financial and contractual law, civil proceedings, arbitration, bankruptcy and liquidation. He also successfully supports the pretrial and extrajudicial dispute settlement procedures.
Mr. Iminov worked on the projects of such leading international companies as Woori Bank, KIA Corporation, Teva Pharmaceuticals, Chevron, EDB, Todini Costruzioni Generali S.p. A., Dr. Theiss Naturwaren, Unilever, QIWI, BAT, etc.

Commercial Disputes
- Advising a prominent Italian construction company in connection with a dispute in international arbitration under the International Chamber of Commerce (Paris) against the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructural Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan arising in the course of performance of a contract agreement (FIDIC Pink Book) entered into with the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan and financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
- Successful representation of one of the leading metals companies in two arbitration proceedings in connection with disputes arising out of supply agreements.
- Successful representation in court of five major European companies active in the sphere of manufacture and sale of agricultural stock in connection with recognition and enforcement of ten foreign arbitral awards by FOSFA.
- Successful representation in courts of three
South-Korean financial institutions in a number of proceedings concerning recovery of debt and challenging of the transfer of shares in a Kazakhstan legal entity, including support of the clients in the course of conciliation procedures. - Successfully appealed to the appellate instance court against the first instance court judgement on recovery from a large Lithuanian company of damages arising in connection with performance of obligations under a banking lease agreement.
- Successful representation of interest of Unilever Kazakhstan LLP in court on the issues of return of equipment transferred under a distribution agreement, including support of enforcement proceedings on return of equipment.
- Support of ten judicial cases on bankruptcy of a group of local agricultural companies.
- Successful representation in court of a major Polish transportation company concerning recovery of losses and force majeure circumstances.
Disputes with Governmental Agencies
- Successfully appealed to court against the results of a customs inspection with respect to a subsidiary of Dr. Theiss Naturwaren GmbH in Kazakhstan.
- Successfully appealed to court against the results of environmental inspection conducted with respect to a major local company active in the field of mining and processing of chrome iron ore.
- Representation of a subsidiary of Teva Pharmaceuticals in court in connection with a dispute with the customs authority and drafting of a memorandum regarding enforcement of judgment of the EAEU court and appropriate ways to return the customs payments.
Other
- Drafting of a memorandum for ACE American Fire and Marine Insurance Company regarding disputable legal relations arising in connection with causing damages to the cargo in the course of international automobile transportation and potential remedies allowing to protect the creditor’s interests in accordance with the CMR Convention.
- Advising ANZ Banking Group on the issues of entering into international transactions with derivatives.
- Advising eToro Group Limited regarding licensing of the broker’s activities in the Kazakhstan territory when providing
cross-border services. - Advising one of the largest industrial concerns of Germany on the issues of transfer of assets in connection with business restructuring.
