Why "AEQUITAS"?
We selected this name in an homage to the ancient Roman lawyers who created jurisprudence as a science. By using the ideas of the Hellenic philosophers, they developed an important principle of forming and applying the rules of law called "aequitas", which meant equality fair for everyone, implying fairness of law.

Yuri G. Bassin (28 March 1923 – 5 November 2004) – an outstanding Kazakhstan scholar, Doctor of Law, Professor, Honored Worker of Science of the Kazakh SSR, one of the key founders of the civil law school and organizer of higher legal education in Kazakhstan; one of AEQUITAS Law Firm founders.
