The two-day training "Specifics of applying the mechanisms of public-private partnership to develop infrastructure" will take place in Bishkek on 24-25 February 2022.  AEQUITAS Partner and head of the firm's Infrastructure Projects and PPP Practice, Ardak Idayatova, and Associate, Zhandaulet Sholanov, will attend the event.

The key purpose of the training is to share information with the event participants concerning the specifics of applying the mechanisms of public-private partnership in order to develop infrastructure and practical recommendations helpful for the implementation of the PPP projects.  The training will be conducted by Denis Kachkin, Managing Partner, Head of Infrastructure and PPP Practice at Kachkin & Partners Law Firm, Head of Joint Department at HSE University in Saint Petersburg.  The speaker will address the following issues:

• Determining the key approaches to the definition of PPP (approaches in different jurisdictions);
• Basics of legal regulation in Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan;
• Public and private initiative when launching projects, including tender procedures and competition restrictions issues;
• Risk management in the PPP projects, preparation of the risk matrix and structuring of agreements;
• Potential ways of the budget participation in the PPP projects, payment mechanisms;
• Examples of the best industry practices;
• Examples negative practices; and
• Advisor's role in the PPP projects.
