AEQUITAS Lawyers Participated in the Webinar Dedicated to the Issues of Financial Crimes with Cryptocurrency
On 15 February 2024, ACFE Chapter Kazakhstan, a multifunctional public organization, the purpose of which is promotion and development of an association of certified specialists investigating the cases of corporate fraud, conducted a webinar dedicated to the issues of financial crimes in the sphere of application of cryptocurrency.
AEQUITAS Partner and Head of the AIFC Branch, Yekaterina Khamidullina, and Junior Associates, Emin Nadirov and Spandiyar Kumisbek, participated in the webinar.
"The webinar was generally insightful. We were provided with general information on the topic with the focus on fraudulent activities with the use of cryptocurrency wallets in the situations where the currency recipients may be terrorist organizations. We will certainly keep in mind the described schemes and methods of violations when advising our clients to help them avoid this," – shared the colleagues.
