Eurasian Antitrust Forum 2021
On 7–8 October 2021, the VII Eurasian Antitrust Forum dedicated to the issues of antitrust regulation of national and cross-border markets in Eurasia took place in Almaty.
The key topics discussed during the Forum were:
- contemplated changes in regulation;
- new approaches to evaluation of the competition status on the commodity markets and conduct of investigations;
- possibilities to protect own rights and interests by market entities in case of distort of competition on cross-border markets;
- practice of resolving disputes between competitors;
- practical issues of protecting the interests of market entities; and
· antitrust compliance as an efficient method to mitigate antitrust risks.
Traditionally, the Forum participants were the representatives of the antitrust block of the Eurasian Economic Commission, heads of antitrust departments of the Union member states, justices of the EEU court and the courts of Kazakhstan, renowned experts and in-house lawyers, including the Partner and Head of Corporate & Antitrust sector of AEQUITAS, Nurlan Sholanov.
At the Forum, Nurlan Sholanov participated in the training "Development of the strategy for communications with the antitrust authority", which he found to be very helpful and interesting.
